Commissioning Services for a Capital Project

Commissioning is a quality-focused process for improving the delivery of a construction project.  The process focuses on verifying and documenting that a facility and all its systems are planned, designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained to meet the Owner's requirements.  Benefits of commissioning include reduced energy use, lower operating costs, reduced contractor callbacks, more comprehensive building documentation, and improved occupant productivity.

A sub-component of commissioning is HVAC TAB, which is the testing, adjusting and balancing of air and water flows in a building heating, ventilating and air conditioning system.

Commissioning and TAB services are procured using approved contractors, under the direction of Infrastructure Planning and Facilities, rather than sub-contracted under the general contractor on a project.
